Spicy Garlic Prawns

These spicy garlic prawns are the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. Marinated and then broiled to perfection. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 5 cloves garlic peeled and minced
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 lb. large prawns or jumbo shrimp thawed, deveined, and peeled*

Instructions

  • Add the garlic, gochujang, vinegar, sesame oil, honey, and soy sauce to a large mixing bowl. Whisk the ingredients together until smooth.
  • Transfer the shrimp to the bowl with the marinade. Toss the shrimp until they are covered and let them marinate for 30 minutes to 2 hours in the refrigerator.

  • Preheat the oven to broil and spread the marinated shrimp across a baking sheet so they are not touching.

  • Broil the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side. The shrimp are ready when they start to curl. Immediately remove the shrimp from the baking sheet so they don’t overcook.

  • Serve on their own or over rice.

Notes

  • We used prawns and jumbo shrimp for this recipe. Both work.
